I was recently looking for a used car. Browsing used car websites is painful…. Of course, I quickly found an awesome new car website that had used car information (hint: wanna build a good website? focus it on used cars - they need the help!). So anyway, I wanted to point out some great features of a Ford dealer online.
First off, you’ll notice the website pulls up ultrafast - indicative that they aren’t using some cheesy hosting company. Then, you’ll notice that the site has an awesome design with very accomodating dropdown menus and most things are accessible from the first page. Obviously, the are a good Ford dealer Seattle for the marketplace.
Anyway, this brings me back to my original point - which was the process of buying a car. This Seattle Ford Dealer has hit the money with their website experience. You can tell they are a customer driven business by navigating the site. Show up, get your car and get done with out a lot of hassle - that’s what it is all about anyway, right?

So, I stumble upon a “writing opportunity” and immediately see it is a thinly veiled affiliate scam.
Here’s the deal. The scammer (as opposed to the scammee) posts “WRITING JOBS” on websites such as CraigsList. The titles vary but the theme is the same, “REVIEWER WANTED” or “BLOGGERS NEEDED” or “WRITERS WANTED” OR “CONTENT WRITER.”
The Scammer is an affiliate of sites like eHarmony, PurePlay and My Debt SuperHero all PAY AFFILIATES FOR THE PEOPLE THEY CAN GET TO SIGN UP! (Seeing as I run several affiliate programs, I don’t like to see people take advantage of them.)
Okay, back to the scam: so people see the ads and apply for them. In response, they get an email (example shown below) directing them to “REVIEW” some of the sample sites by writing a brief description and emailing it back to them as part of the application process. Of course, the links to sites to review are all affiliate registration links for which they will be paid.

Here’s a coinky dinky: once upon a time I lived in Dallas, Texas. I’m a big fan of headshots.
